OUR STORY

Hi, my name is Gino Naarden. I am the founder of Y – academy. I grew up in Suriname and those were the best days of my life. During my lifespan, I came about an interesting fact and that is, that not only all the wealth, but also all the knowledge in the world is not evenly distributed. People nowadays have forgotten how to live, work and play together. We have submitted to a state of survival where everybody became selfish for their own success. I believe that by working together we can achieve much more in a shorter time span. Like a computer, who cannot think for itself, but its result is dependent on the input of the programmer. If we want to make a durable/sustainable change, we first have to change the way education is administered. We need to shift from teaching our people what to think, to enable them how to think. My dream is to develop a self-sustainable academy with a focus on cultivating people their talents through a new form of education.

WE TEACH OUR PUPILS HOW TO:

Y-Academy doesn’t have a targeted audience, it is really made for everyone. Doesn’t matter if you are 60 years old or if you are 6 years. If you are willing to learn than there is a place for you.


Our vision is to see all people in Suriname healthy, educated and wealthy enough to meet their basic needs and step by step to implement multiple Y-Academies across the country.
